I have this on order as my first set of rifle dies. Also just getting started on reloading.
Question - does this set do all I need as far as dies go? Specifically, the description of them does not speak much about bullet seating/crimping. Do I need another die for the seat and/or crimp?

What caliber?
My delux set for my 30/30 I believe can crimp and seat at the same time but it is not recommended and I have a separate crimp die just for that step. But some calibers dont' need crimped depending on what they are going in.

two sets; one in 308 and one in 30-06.
And the description does speak to seating - just not crimping.
Also sent an email to Lee but haven't heard back from them yet.

If you go to their web site, I believe you will find the answers you are looking for.

get the collet dies.few extra bucks but very slick. No case lub needed much less mess :neener:

yes they are all you need the seating die also crimps

Yep.. all you need.

I too am just getting started. I bought all the Lee Classic Hand load kits and the single stage press kit with the 2nd edition reloading book.

I bought the Delux dies for handguns but the pacesetter rifle dies. and the Universal hand primer and and primer pocket cleaner.

Littlelefty,

The deluxe set comes with the Collet Die, Full-length Sizing / de-priming die, and the Bullet seating die. Be aware that the Collet die is for ammo you only plan to fire in one poarticular rifle. It is not for ammo to be used in semi0autos, lever actions or pumps. Those rounds (according to Lee) must be crimped to prevent bullet set-back which can cause dangerous increases in pressure. I use the Pacesetter set becaus it comes with the Full-length sizing/de-priming die, Bullet seating die and Factory crimp die. This will allow you to seat the bullet then crimp in a separate step. The bullet seating die will also crimp as it seats the bullet, I just prefer to use a separate die for that step. So you see, which set is best depends on what type rifle you are using and what type shooting you plan to do. :)

I'm sure if you read Lee's Reloading manual or heck, just give them a call, they will be glad to help you out.
