Hey guys,

Between the 2 sets, what are the advantages or disadvantages between the 2?

Pacesetter includes-
Includes a full-length sizer die, a factory-crimp die, a bullet-seating and roll-crimp die, a shell holder, powder dipper, load data and storage box.

Deluxe includes-
Set includes a collet neck-sizing die, dead length bullet-seating die and a full-length sizing die, plus a shell holder, powder dipper, load data and storage box.

Thanks!

All depends on what you're going to use it for. If it's a bolt action rifle, neck sizing is useful and crimping not so much, so the Deluxe set is perfect. If it's an autoloader, the neck sizer is pretty useless, but a crimper can come in handy, so the Pacesetter set is perfect.

That sounds like a good explanation.

Very nice! it will be for a bolt action so it looks like im going DELUXE!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Any trimmer recommendations? This will be my first go at rifle reloading

If you are new to reloading, get the Pacesetter set with the FL sizing die.

Lots of folks come here having problems with the Lee neck sizing dies, and it is a problem best avoided for a new reloader.

FL sizing works perfectly fine for 99% of any rifle reloading.

I really have to disagree with RC on this one.

The Deluxe comes with a FL die. To me the crimp die that the Pacesetter comes with is useless. Even in autos I don't have a use for it.

I use the NS die the most over a FL die. I FL all new to me brass & auto brass but for my bolts everything that has been fired through them gets NS. No lube is needed & I have about 30 fireings on them with no ware.

The Dead Seating die sets length off from the shell holder. Takes most of user error & press flex out of the equation.

Both sets come with a FL sizing die and a seater die, is your advice really to buy a FCD instead of a neck sizer for a bolt gun? That's the only difference between the two sets.

No, my advice was to get a FL die so you can reload usable ammo while trying to get the collet neck size die to work right.

I didn't realize both sets came with a FL die.

The FCD is not needed unless you want to crimp for an auto-loader or lever-action.

I would stick with RCBS dies. I know they cost a little more, but the quality just looks, feels, and performs better than LEE dies. The local Sportsman's Warehouse stocks most RCBS die sets for $29.99-32.99. Why buy a LEE kit for the same price anymore? A free shellholder? Ya gotta be kiddin'.

both types

I have autos, levers, and bolt guns and I use the appropriate dies for each action, variety is the spice of life !!
I use Lee dies for all my reloading, and accuracy and reliability are awesome.
I do have one set of Redding and one of RCBS dies that I picked up at a garage sale (never used em).

I use Lee & RCBS. I really like the Lee better. I didn't know RCBS made a collet NS die or a Dead Length Seating die. I think I've seen a 2 die set for $30. Are you trying to say it is better to spend more to get less.
