My local Sportsmans has the Lee Perfect Powder drop for $26.

They also have the RCBS Uniflow for $65.

Taking into account the cost, quality, usefulness, and consistancy, which should a guy buy, and why?

Thanks,

I have a lee and it works well with H335, this is the only power I have tried in it so far. The charges are very consistant. Maybe it will not work as well with other powders but I like it so far and you can't beat the price.

You can buy both for less money from Midwayusa.com.

They're both good measures, but the Uniflow is much more tolerant of various powder than the PPM. Depends on your application as to which one to buy.

I have both here now and a Lee Pro Auto Disk. For my money, I prefer the Uniflow, but really like the Lee Pro Auto Disk.

But it really boils down to what powder you're going to use.

I have no experience with the Lee powder measure, but he Uniflow is wonderful. It cuts extruded powders with ease, and is very consistent when it's adjusted properly.

The uniflows work great with all types of powder. The Lee works best with stick powder. Fine pistol powders like 296 and 231 leek out

I found the lee powder perfect can get "scored" by using fine ball powders like AA9. They scratch the plastic drum. With stick powders it worked perfectly. Thus after I scratched up my lee so it really leaked a lot, then I switched to the uniflow. Now I have 2 uniflows and the lee is where it belongs in the recycling bin.

I use both the Uniflow and the Lee PPM. The Uniflow works perfectly with ball powders, andhas some slight difficulty with extruded powders. The Lee leaks like a sieve with ball powders, but works wonderfully with extruded powders. Go figure. So, I have both on the bench.

i have used the rcbs for years with total satisfaction.i have bought a few lyman 55's to keep preset for a given load and like them as well.a friend bought a lee perfect and all i can say is it is a perfect piece of junk!! buy a measure made of metal, not plastic unless it is a set of scoops and they come in very handy at times.
