I tried a search, but didn't find anything, so here's my stupid question:

How do you empty your RCBS Uniflow measure? I have "run it through", but that's not alot of fun if you have a large amount of powder left. I've also taken it off the bench, removed the lid, and dumped it back into the powder container--not a huge deal to do, but not the easiest either.

I have to admit--this is one area where the Lee Perfect powder measure has it all over RCBS. It's sooooo convenient to shut it off, flip the handle a few times, pull the hopper, and dump it into the powder container.

Thanks in advance.

I take mine off the stand, dump it in a funnel in the can, swing the handle a few times, and put it back on the stand for next time. Not hard.

When you are done dumping--hold drop tube over powder container & move handle
up & down a couple of times to clear powder drum (measuring cylinder)

What they said, plus this: If you are having powder stick to the sides because of static use a long nylon bore brush to brush it down.

Take top off and dump it back into the container, operate handle a couple time to clear any remains. I stuff a used dryer sheet inside when I'm done to keep static cling at bay.

I'm gonna poke alittle fun....take it easy!!!!, I'm just "funnin". You mean to tell me you don't know how far up the tube you need to fill for the amount of rounds you are gonna load??...LOL. OK, seriously, I pretty well know how much powder I need to pour into the tube for the number shells I'm going to load. So, it isn't a big deal to open the metering stem all the way and crank out 5-6-10-12 times right into the cannister.

All my powder measures are mounted on homemade stands.

Big cast iron gears for bases, with a steel upright mount welded to it.

I can just pick up the whole shebang and dump it back in the powder can.

I pull the "charge handle" up (you'll see why) and hold it there while I turn the Uniflow 3 turns counter-clockwise...

That removes it from my turret - then I just dump it back into the powder container - ending with a few "flips" of the charger handle to get rid of the static kling-ons...

It's pretty convenient....

You could make it MORE convenient by getting the LARGER volume Uniflow with the LARGE hopper - it has a feed tube at the bottom for dumping excess powder back into the container without having to mess with the Uniflow itself...

Another option is to put in a quick change cylinder. Then you can pull the meter and use a drain tube. I didn't say it was cheap...

Well, it's not rocket surgery. There are only two ways to get the residual powder out of a measure; 1) the bottom or 2) the top. ??

'Spect most of us pour it out the top, into a cheap funnel sitting on the original container. I prefer aluminum funnels to anything plastic because of the static cling with plastics.
