Lee Pro 1000 - changing over to 4 hole turret?

I wondered about a similar question and did some research. But I don't understand what it is you are asking. Please explain what your situation is now and what situation you desire?

3 hole shell plate = 3 hole turret. A 3 hole shell plate wouldn't line up if you had a 4 hole turret. What are you looking to do?

Actually it is for the original Turret press which was built before the Pro 1000. The Pro 1000 press was the originally built on the base of the turret press and later they redesigned the Turret making the Classic version with 4 hole. If you happen to own and older original Turret you can convert it to the 4 hole but don't think due to the shell plate system on the Pro 1000 it can be done to the Progressive press. Now that isn't to say Lee might some day do just that.

Even with your post #4, I still don't understand your question.

But let me guess:

You have a Pro-1000 progressive or a Deluxe Turret with three stations and would like to switch to the 4-station disk (or "puck"). This will convert your Pro-1000 to a turret press, of course.

Yes, it can be done (according to Lee Precision). I inquired about converting my Pro-1000 to a turret press two years ago.

It will cost around $50 in parts and involves replacing the turret ring, as the ring for the 3-hole disk is not the same as the ring for the four-hole disk. And, if I remember correctly, involves replacing the ram for one that has the top end to take a shell holder instead of the plain end on which the carrier for the shell plate used to sit.

I decided to get the Classic Turret, a far superior solution.

No such thing as a "shell plate" for a turret press.

On a turret press, the brass case stays in one place & the turret, which holds the dies, turns.
Where as on a progressive, like a Pro1000, the case rotates & the dies are stationary.

Instead of converting the Pro1000 why no just load one case at a time in it.

There's been rumors about Lee coming out with a "Pro-2000" press which would be a 4-station Pro-1000, however, since the Loadmaster is Lee's big progressive, I doubt they will be wanting to be spiking the Loadmaster sales for a Pro-2000 4-hole press. Just don't see it happening.
