Tapping a screw into the side of a disk hole works well but does take a little time and you need to buy an extra disk. Did anyone mention the Adjustable Charge Bar? It's only $8 and usable for a lot of different charge weights. I have used one and even stacked two to get exactly what powder weight I need...

For dropping small powder charges more consistently, many modify the charge bar to move the small oval/football shaped opening over the powder drop tube by adding epoxy/bondo -

I have addressed that by removing the O-ring between the measure and the riser. It was enough to eliminate the ledge.

Yes, but OP needed to drop small charges of Titegroup at 3.1 gr.

No need. You modify the disk you are already using. If you need the full capacity of the hole, you just back out the screw. If you need to use other holes, you remove the screw.


By modifying the .30 hole, OP was able to consistently drop 3.1 gr of Titegroup. I really think this DIY mod is simple and elegant solution (How many powder measures can drop Bullseye consistently down to 1.5 gr and W231/HP-38 down to 2.0 gr?).

So far so good ... drilled a hole in the .30 hole. Found a small non-brass screw and inserted it. Backed it out and tapered/filed the end. Put it back in and dialed it in to 3.1 gr with Titegroup. Did 6 or 7 tests and it's consistent @ 3.1. ... I'm good to go.

I know you can do that but if you are loading a lot of the same ammo all the time I would want to leave the disk set to the correct drop. I like things simple and and easy.

Instead of using a machine screw for the adjustment try using a hex head set screw. They can be had in many different lengths. Just find one that is long enough that it doesn't stick out past the edge.
