Lee Quick Trim

I am not a huge Lee fan but I do own some Lee stuff. Some of It works and some does not. I just purchased a Lee Quick Trim set up for the .204 Ruger case and just got done trimming 60 cases and I am pretty impressed it did a fantastic job they were all within .001" each other. I hope it last.

I bought the Lee Deluxe Quick Trim two weeks ago. Wanted to 'move up' from the lee case length gauge, cuter and shell holder. Quick trim has been consistent in cutting for me too. I set down with it to trim about a thousand .223 cases last week. Cranking away, realized real quick I needed the power adapter. Ordered it and an electric screwdriver to power it. I thought the electric screwdriver would still give me that consistent cut without overpowering the tool/cutter. And it does, but it is still too slow. Accurate and does a great job, but slow. Well, slow when you're looking at a pile of .223 brass.

I like the trimmer and will still use it for my other rifle calibers that I load in quantities of less than fifty at a time, but I'm still in the hunt for .223 case prep tools. Lee case length gauge, cutter and shell holder has worked good for thousands of rounds so far . If it ain't broke, don't fix it?

As you say, I'm not a big Lee fan, but I do own some too.
I have the OLD lee trimmer that I put into a cordless drill with the other part in my hand.
It's ok, I have not heard of this one. It seems to be a take off of the old one in a new package with case chamfering added.????

That would mean I would have to buy all new dies for my calibers I trim.
Oh well.....I do like the ease of it, it seems better than the "Lawnmower starter" one....

I always have my RCBS case trimmer to fall back on, but I like new ideas sometimes.

I have both the Lee Deluxe trim and Quick trim. I find myself using my old Black and Decker Firestorm 18volt drill and using the Quick trim, many more times over than the Deluxe. Couple seconds faster, if im running a large bath of brass.

Still using my Lee trimmer, years later. Works great as long as case rims are in good shape and fit squarely in the shell holder.

I have been using the Lee Quick Trim for about 6 months now and find it to be quite accurate. I don’t think it will work well on a turret or progressive press as the slight amount of slop in the tool head would play havoc with the accuracy, so it’s a single stage press tool only. I set it up on my Partner press in front of the TV and by the time a movie is over I have 300 or 400 trimmed brass.

I have a Lee breech lock press that is a dream to use. I can put the Deluxe quick trim on it and move through a pile of cases in jig time. I am more that satisfied with the results.
