Lee Tumble Lube Bullets ????

Do you have any pros and cons to offer for the Lee Tumble Lube bullets. I'm looking at a 6 cavity 158SWC tumble lube bullet mold. I am pretty experienced with molding lures and wieghts and I don't think the 6 cavity is going to be a problem. Or is it? Do you like the tumble lube bullet?
Any suggestions before I spend 39 hard earned buckaroos?

I find that the tumble lube bullets work very well. For target loads, I have no other molds that throw more accurate bullets than the Lee TL types. There is no down side, really. The bullets are good, and tumble lubing is way faster than sizer lubing. You do have to let them dry overnight.

The six cavity mold may take a little getting used to for a new bullet caster. Two cavities would be easier to start on, I think, but you'll get the hang of a six holer soon enough.

I have the 124gr Tumble lube mold in 9mm and love it. Only 2 cavity though. I would say go for it. Have never had a problem with any of my Lee molds. My only Lyman mold is back at the factory for repair. Tumble lubing for me is the way to go.

If you are going to use a 6-cavity mold, you will need a big furnace, at least 20 pounds.

I like Tumble Lube, but I use a lot more grooved-and-greased. The lube on the bullet noses will probably build up in the Seating die, gradually seating your bullets deeper. The Dillon Seater die can be taken apart for cleaning without losing adjustment, a clear advantage when loading TL bullets.

All my molds are tumble lube and work very well. Do you realise that for that price, you are not getting handles? If you are, let me know and I'll get me some too.

I wear latex gloves while tumble lubing and lay out a sheet of wax paper to set them on. Cleanup is no problem.

I found tumble lubed bullets to be pretty messy.

As noted above, you get a build up in the seating die. I also found that using the TL bullets in semi autos, the feed ramp got a good coating of the lube as well.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, but for revolvers.

Semi auto's get normally sized and lubed bullets from the Lyman 450 that has a lube heater.

I have also found the Lee 6 gang molds to be the perfect match to their Pro 20 lead melter.

I use the Lee Liquid Alox on my tumble lube cast bullets, no issues, love it.
