Lee Turret Press

Hmm, how much do you think we would be paying for dies if not for Lee, Powder measures like the Auto Disk & PPM etc?

I really don't know the answer to that but I guarantee it would be more.

Upon reflection on the matter, after my lottery win I will let my leggy supermodel assistant decide what press she wants to use to reload my ammo.

Randy P, Maybe Dillon will rent you both their press and your aforementioned operator--check their catalog.:D

My bench is mostly red too. Both of my presses are red, and one is a classic turret. The other is a single stage challenger I think. The SS is what got me started into reloading. It was a gift years ago, and the only thing that has given me any trouble is the handle linkage. After Lee sent me the parts to fix it (no charge) after being out of warranty for years I said I would look at them when I was able to upgrade.

I've had my classic turret for over a year now, and love it. It works great (aprox. 3k rounds) I would definitely advise the pro measure. The pro drops Bullseye to w/i .1 every time. The press really is a workhorse.

All that aside if my grandfather quits reloading I would kick the Lee single stage off the bench in a heartbeat to replace it with his old Rock-Chucker.

That tactic has made millions for LEE. Package up a bunch of cheap components to get the sale. Then offer upgrade packs to replace the junk parts.

WOW! I sure wish someone had told me that before I plunked down good money to buy a Lee Classic Turret press and loaded thousands of rounds in 45ACP, 357SIG, 357 magnum and 380ACP. So far, the only junk part I've had to replace (once) is the square plastic ratchet piece at a cost of what, 50 cents? This piece can wear out after "building" thousands of rounds.

LEE, Johnsonville Brats, Milwaukee Beer and the Green Bay Packers. All American made. What's not to like?

Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Actually, that plastic ratchet piece will probably last a lot longer than that, if you remember to never try to turn the turret when the lever is up. :)

I had a Lee Classic Turret and was able to make good ammo on it. I only upgraded to a Dillon because I like the fact the warrenty is solid,my production quadrupled, and the priming system is worlds better. I had many people tell me to "prime off the press". To me that seems to be counterproductive to the whole point of having an auto-indexing turret. Also, I didnt like having to "adjust and tinker" with the Lee all the time. The powder drop was the best part, my only complaint is that is seemed to waste some powder on the slider
