I'm thinking of getting one as part of a portable reloading set up for load development at the range.

My intention would be to prep annd prime a batch of cases at home on my Rockchucker and then use the Leeloader to seat the bullets at the range..

So, is the bullet seating depth adustable on a Lee Loader? Would the fact the cases were sized in a different press cause any problems when using the Lee Loader for bullet seating?

I should add it will be used primarily for loading my .308win and .260Rem ect..

I currently have a Lee hand press for range work, but i find it fiddly to use and that ideally you could do with three hands to operate the thing..

Regards,

Peter

I haven't used the Lee Loader for rifle cartridges, but I suspect it works the same way it does for handgun cartridges. Seating depth is adjustable, and it shouldn't matter that you resized on your RC. The Lee Loader for rifle cartridges only neck resizes anyway.

I have a couple of them for portable handloading and I think they are great. Priming leaves something to be desired, I set one off recently, but other than that I really like them.

Lee loaders are very usable for the purpose you are proposing, Peter.

Get yourself a portable scale, calipers, a cool hammer, some bullets and a can of powder and your in for a very fun time at the range. Of course it will bring out all the handloaders to your edge of the range. That could be good and bad, you know what I mean.

Thanks for the feedback..A friend says he may have an old Leeloader in .308win knocking around somewhere, so he is going to look for me....

Scales are the next problem...I currently use a set of RCBS 505's which are "portable" but a bit of a pain to use in this manner...I'm guessing a small set of digital ones may be better, *if* I can find some that work ok when powder is trickled onto them..

Thanks again,

Peter
