I don't currently own a semi, but my reading has me interested in the fnp9.

Several videos on line show the ejected cartridges hitting a right handed shooter in the right shoulder, or close to it, fairly consistently. Several even hit the bill of the shooter's cap.

The way I figure it, a left hander would be catching most of the ejections in the face or head. Are there any lefties out there who can tell me about their experiences with the ejection pattern for the fnp9?

This is the only issue holding up my decision, so I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

I don't have an FNP-9 yet, hopefully I'm going to order one this week, but my glock 26 did the same thing when i used remington umc ammo, it doesn't have as much recoil as the wwb i usually use, and I also had a failure to eject with the umc, never had a problem with the winchester ammo. I would guess that the casings are coming straight back because the ammo isn't generating enough recoil for the slide to cycle properly.

My FNP-9 should be here in a day or two so I can let you know for sure, but I did some more research and it looks like the FNP recoil spring needs a couple hundred rounds to break it in, during the break in period some of the casings will eject backwards towards the shooter. If you don't want to get hit with casings for the break in, you can also try leaving the slide locked back for a couple weeks.
