I have a firearm listed here that I am considering selling. I reside in Illinois, and have the required FOID card for firearm and ammunition ownership. (Or...renting, in the case of the latter ;) it never stays around long!)

Anyway, a gentlemen from Florida is interested in buying my revolver. He is traveling to this state later in the month, and has a CCP license from his state. Is it legal for him to buy this gun from me while he is here? Thank you all in advance. I am also going to talk to a police officer who is a close family friend, but I thought I would ask here first. He's been rather busy lately!

Nope! Sorry, but he is not legal to acquire a handgun in another state simply because he has a Fla. carry license.

You and he would both be comitting a federal felony.......if he is determined to buy your gun then do it right and have it transferred to a Florida dealer. Don't risk a problem for yourself and him, do it right.
