Hello all,

I have been lurking here for a little while, but this one is my first post. :)

My question is just like the title: is it legal to own ammunition by legal none-citizen resident in WA?

I have been a legal none-citizen resident in WA for 7 years now. I don't have any background. I have a very good friend who has been in army for years. We have been shooting together for some years now (using his weapons). I have been a student for those years, and didn't have the extra $$$ for a nice one. Christmas is coming very soon. What I'm thinking is to get him a sh$t load of ammunition so that he can have some really good times.;)

How much ammo can I store legally as a non-citizen just for like a week or so.

Thanks guys!!:)

Those are very murky legal waters you're wading in. Honestly if you buy from Walmart as long as you have a Driver License you can probably buy as many (usually 6) boxes as they'll allow.

What about just buying your friend a gift card and avoiding the legal ramifications?

You're a resident alien. You can buy as much as you want subject to State restrictions , if there are any.

Get him all you want

AFS
Well the OP did not mention specifically that he was a resident alien or permanent resident. There are visa categories that allow for student visas or exchange visitors and may limit a person's rights to buy firearms and ammunition.

A hunting license will solve this, whether the OP is a resident alien or on a visa.
