Going to be loading some Berry's 124 grain HBFP-TP with VV N340 and want to compare my seating depth to the VV data I'm using for the RN version.

If anyone has the HBRN-TP handy and could measure it for me, I would appreciate it.

Looking at the Berry's website, it appears that the nose of the 124gr flat base and the nose of the 124gr hollow base are identical. Therefore, I would load both to the same OAL. Why? If the noses of both bullets are the same shape, the volume of the both bullets inside the case should also be the same and the remaining volume inside the case will also be the same.

Just FYI, Berry's MFG took this pdf off their website and lists bullet lengths for all of their bullets they manufacture for reference - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?attachments/berrys-col-pdf.896428/

Even though the HBFP bullet is slightly longer, the hollow cavity would result in similar internal case volume when loaded to same COL.
  • 124 gr HBFP Bullet length 0.550" COL 1.060"
  • 124 gr FP Bullet length 0.530" COL 1.060"
