OK, I'm looking for a set of night sights for a Glock 17/22 that leaves very little light on either side of the front sight. I have a current set of Tru-Glo night sights that just leave too much wobble on either side. Maybe my eyes are getting old but too much light makes it hard for me to line the sights up. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, any pics would be helpful!

Get a old set of tritium sights, after 10 years they still work but less than half the original light.
Some gunsmiths keep a jar of the old sights people have them replace.

The Meprolights on my Glock 19 leave almost no gap on the sides of the front sight at full arm extension. However, that might not be the case with the longer sight radius of a G17.

Both the factory Glock and the Meprolights (may actually be/probably are, the same sights) have a pretty narrow gap on either side. I have them on most of my Glocks, and would actually prefer a more narrow front sight giving a larger gap.

I tried to take a couple of pics, but what the camera shows, isnt what I see when the gun is held at arms length. And thats even when the camera is held back.

I would prefer a gap something like you see in WVsig's pic, but at arms length, and thats what the camera shows, but its not what I see when actually shooting the gun. The gap is considerably smaller/finer, which makes for a slower to acquire sight picture. I actually just use the dots from about 10 yards and in, and dont start transitioning into a traditional sight picture until further away.

I prefer the three dot night sights and have used/tried a couple of different makes. The "all green" Meprolights for me, seems to be the biggest, brightest, and easiest seen (they have a nice, bright white ring around the vials). If they would just open up the notch in the rear sight, things would be about perfect.

You need to figure out how wide your front sight is, and how wide your rear notch is, and then get something that has a wider front and a narrower rear. I couldn't find numbers on Truglo's website ( https://www.truglo.com ) or at a couple of other retailers, so you may have to measure them yourself.

Ameriglo does a very good job listing their sight widths. Once you figure what you have, picking something tighter shouldn't be too hard.

On a Glock 17 the sights don’t line up easily for a lot of people. I put a Grip Force Adapter on my Gen3 17, and it solved the pointing problems I was having, and I no longer get slide bite from a high-hold grip. At $25 bucks I think it’s one of the best Glock accessories I have personal experience with anyway, it has worked fine for me on my 17 and 19 and for other Glock shooters that I know. If it doesn’t work you can take it off & return it where you bought it.
