Sako did not buy out Tikka. My understanding is that when Beretta purchased Sako they forced the Finns to develop a budget line of rifles. Something they didn't necessarily want to do.
My Sako Finnlight in 6.5x55 has the soft touch stock or whatever they're calling it. It's surprisingly good fairly stiff and looks good. Mine required no bedding or tweaking of any kind. Produces .5 inch groups with Federal factory ammo loaded with 123 gr Sierras. The length of pull is about 13.5 inches. Balance seems neutral with the light, fluted barrel. No ejection problems whatsoever!
