I owned a Cooper M52 Excalibur at one time. It's a well built rifle but I could never warm up to the stock. I have another semi-custom rifle in the same cartridge, bedded in a McM Edge that I much preferred because of the slimmer stock and reduced weight. I ended up trading the Cooper for an M20 ULA, which has become my favorite "walking" deer rifle. The only problem with acquiring a rifle like that is suddenly, most every rifle in my safe looked "expendable"!
