kimber vs sako

I owned a Cooper M52 Excalibur at one time. It's a well built rifle but I could never warm up to the stock. I have another semi-custom rifle in the same cartridge, bedded in a McM Edge that I much preferred because of the slimmer stock and reduced weight. I ended up trading the Cooper for an M20 ULA, which has become my favorite "walking" deer rifle. The only problem with acquiring a rifle like that is suddenly, most every rifle in my safe looked "expendable"!

I do not like the new Sako's much, but I love the Kimbers. Also I hunted with a Sako Finnbear Deluxe in 338 winmag for 20 years, nice gun that. Killed many mooses and caribou with her, oh yeah your scope pick is perfect, same thing I use

I have 6 Sako,s and consider them the best production rifles one can buy with sub moa out of the box accuracy with good factory ammo and smooth as silk actions. The Finn's have gotten it rite.

Update on a old-ish thread:
I ended up buying a kimber 84l classic select in good old 30-06. I LOVE the rifle. I topped it with a vx-3 2.5-8x36 scope. I like it so much im thinking of bidding on a 84m classic stainless in .243 on GB right now.

dubya450, congrats on the Kimber. As far as I'm concerned Kimber offers some of the best hunting rifles available with outstanding build quality and excellent attention to detail. I bought a Montana a few months ago (.300 WSM shown below) and I couldn't be happier. Winchester is making some nice rifles too but the Kimber is better in every way. I plan on buying another Montana in .308 Win and a Talkeetna at some point. I'm looking forward to working up a load for the Kimber using a 168gr Barnes TSX bullet now that it's starting to cool off. Initial load development with a Hornady 150gr SST showed some real promise.
