Nothing to look at, but I enjoy shooting my little stainless and plastic Marlin Papoose. It's a take down, the 16 1/4" barrel has a threaded collar that screws on to the lightweight receiver, 3.25 lbs. total. Comes with its own zipper case, pretty small once it's disassembled, surprisingly accurate.
Basically it's a Marlin 60, but with detachable magazine. I have a 25 round mag that works well with it.
Marlin 15Y youth rifle.
I picked it up dirt cheap, years ago. The stock was so thick and heavy. I reshaped the stock to look more like a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight. I put a BB gun red dot on it and sighted it in at 15 yards with CB Longs and used it with great effect to rid my yard of pesky squirrels.
For me, the most fun shooting I have right now is this one: Browning SA-22short. Since this picture was taken, I've changed the 4X32Bushnell to a Leupold VX3 1.75-6X32 but its so sexy now that if I showed you that picture it would leave some of you in drooling incoherence.
But, choosing among some fun ones like a customized folding-stock 10/22, AR-7, etc, I guess I'd pick this one for #2; A Ruger 10/22 with a Green Mountain Barrel, Volquartsen trigger, and ambidextrous thumbhole stock. I could just plink away all day with this one. But I definitely save my nights for the SA-22short!
