As the season closes in, I always like to see what everyone else picks as their deer slug gun. So...lets see whAt you're using this year.

Mine is an NEF Pardner Pump. 22" Rifled Barrel, TruGlo red dot and an 870 Shurshot Stock. I just got the stock yesterday. I originally ordered black but got mossy oak obsession instead. Decided it looked ok and kept it.

Top gun is a H&R tracker II rifled 20 ga Feed it a diet of home rolled .625 hardcast round ball slugs @ 1275 FPS
Bottom gun it a 1977 vintage 162 Buck H&R 12 ga it likes standard remington 2 3/4 slugsters

Older Western Field (Mossberg) 12 gauge with rifled slug barrel shooting Hornady SST bullets. Checkered stocks upgraded in 2009. Scope is 4X compact model by TASCO - made in Japan in 1980's. This outfit shoots an honest 2.5 inch group at 100 yards but recoil is a vicious kick. But my Limbsaver pad eliminates bruising and pain.

The most accurate are the two Bennelli's.....Super Black Eagle is scary rifle accurate.

Sorry no pics but I'm using a Mossberg 500A with 20" vent rib barrel this year. Decided to go retro this year ans stayed with the bead sight and standaed rifled slugs. Sabot slugs are just to darn expensive for my likes so the Trophy Slugster barrel is staying tucked away.

I'm going even more retro this year when I haul out my late fathers Mossberg bolt action 185K-A 20ga with C-lect choke:cool: This was dad's only deer gun and he got quite a few with it too.

H&R Ultra slug hunter 20 gauge shooting Lightfield 2 3/4" Hybrid EXP slugs. As accurate as most rifles at 100 yards. My longest shot with it was 128 yards that dropped a doe in its tracks.

The 500 was just acquired. The little double was only thrown in because i bought a rifled tube for it, but probably wont ever use it with slugs. BTW the only one with a fully rifled barrel is the H&R.

That's my mossberg 500, 2.5x20 scope that came with the package from dick's. I love it, has a decent trigger, isn't overly heavy. I like the scope, it's got a nice field of view, and nothing to futz with.

On top of that it's accurate, it's more accurate than i am. If i were to use some sort of rest i'm positive it would do under 2". From a field position, elbows, on a bench or sitting resting on a knee, I'm under 2.5-3 inches. Plenty accurrate for the woods.
