Just a plane-jane, full stock 1987 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) that I picked up a few years ago for $800 because it had a 240k miles and a blown head gasket. $800 for the Jeep, $50 one-time registration as an antique in VA, $50 in parts, and a couple evenings turning a wrench or two got me a working radio, driver window, heater, and 4 wheel drive. Everything I needed in a hunting rig.

Most weekends during hunting season a whitetail or two can be found in the back, and it has been affectionately dubbed the #MurderWagon.

Good lookin' buck in the background!

ATVs go where not even a UTV can tread....and they'll fit in the bed of your truck with a set of ramps. :D I really don't know how I got things done without that thing. LOL I'm going to put a winch on it, though it's so light I can often lift it when needed. It's a 250. And, it can do the work of a 400 as it has a low range in the tranny.

Actually I heard it was "Just Empty Every Pocket". My CJ8 is in pretty darned good shape for a 35 yo vehicle. Even more so for one that's used regularly as a daily driver and off road.

I really want to get my hands on the CJ6. The frame and body are good. Suspension needs replacing. The drive train is the big question. But, those straight sixes are a snap to rebuild, I have a spare tranny, transfer case (twin stick conversion) and diffs sitting in the shed. Heck, I've even got a spare radiator hanging in the garage.

The three most used words of a jeep owner... "I have a spare..."

Don't own a dedicated hunting vehicle, but when paddling and cycling season is over the '13 Elantra has plenty of room in the trunk for a mid sized deer.
My F350 is an old gas hog. I usually hunt about 30 minutes from the house, makes more sense to take the car. Yup, I'm cheap.
Could also use the wife's secondary SUV, but not sure if I'd still have a wife if I put a dead deer in it. IMG_20171122_185728.jpg

I used to wrap up pigs and toss them in the trunk of my Tiburon, then the wife decided it was her car.....

Well, since I usually just hunt out back or next door if I need to haul anything, ( which is seldom.. :() I just get the Kubota tractor.
If I do get a chance to travel to a hunt it's usually my 7 year old Subaru Forester since it gets better mileage than the GMC 4WD pickup.
You guys have some cool hunting rides though.

Went the grocery store last week, had the car. Wife refused to put any food items in the trunk..guess I need to remove the deer hair that was left in there the Friday before from the spike.
She eats it, just gets freaked out about anything that doesn't resemble a package of meat from the store.

Both of these are long gone now, but they're my two last "dedicated" hunting vehicles. Both of them saw places that would make winchers proud...
Maybe I'll get another proper 4x4 at some point, my XC Volvo proved a bit lacking on the last trip up north.

Don't have a dedicated hunting truck anymore, but here's my do-everything truck: '15 Chevy Colorado.

That's the latest picture I have of the whole truck, it's been kind of a rough year for my truck. We rented that R-pod to drag up to Yellowstone for a long weekend. After 9 hours of driving up with a 20 month old, we nearly got hit head-on between Cody and the East gate by an Italian in a Subaru who fell asleep at the wheel (8 hours jet lag?). I swerved at the last second when I realized that he was coming over the line, so he just grazed the rear quarter panel of my truck, but totally plowed the trailer. I'm talking a mangled frame in two pieces and plywood confetti everywhere. Everyone survived, and two weeks later back in Cheyenne, an apocalyptic hailstorm hit and hammered every surface with 2.75" hail.

The good news is, a month in the shop and a few hefty checks from the insurance companies later my truck was fixed up and ready for hunting season!

Here's a picture of our camp with it all fixed up in the background on a cold, wet weekend during bow season.
