Letter to Editor: "These Gun Laws Would Make Us Safe"

The last murder in my city was allegedly committed by means of a rock and a dog leash. Before that it was a baseball bat.

Kitchen knife here. Knives for all that I can remember. I remember three or four people murdered in the past dozen years, and two were a double murder.
 
Yeah, he'd feel better because he doesn't have the balls to defend his family.

When his wife and daughter are getting gangbanged in front of him he can begin his inner healing, realizing that no other man can defend his family either, and that the perpetrators probably just had a bad childhood.
 
Premise one: "speed kills" um no Einstein, slowing down to quickly kills (well to be truly sarcastic and correct, your inner organs being smashed to bits due to impact)

Premise two: "drugs kill" again, it's actually the stopping of your bodily functions, damage to your internal organs that kills. (oh,don't forget that awful aspirin and viagra :evil: )

I'm sure this person lives in a nice neighborhood...well protected by private and local law enforcement. Should he wander into a "hood" he will feel protected by local police...until he realizes that even the local police are not there and he is on his own.

I bet more died from stairs, drownings, falls, poisonings, accidents (automobile and otherwise) than from firearm deaths in your city alone in the past year. Ugh. I am so sick of these morons.

Instead of LOCKING UP all the INANIMATE OBJECTS, I propose LOCKING UP HOPLOPHOBES and CRIMINALS, imagine that.This guy's arguments are based in pure emotion with some alarming control issue undertones. Since guns scare him, he tries to come up with a way to rationalize that fear. Once he shows us his great deductive reasoning abilities(or lack of)he proposes ,firearms "lock ups" to control the legally owned firearms that pose no threat to him, but a major one to Criminals :scrutiny:... People that know better, understand that it is CRIMINAL CONTROL that will make us safER, not DESTROYING the CONSTITUTION:banghead:. A "blissninny" is a variant on a "ninny," i.e. a variant on someone who is extemely foolish or stupid. The "bliss" part of it has something to do with a belief that sitting around campfires and singing "Kumbaya" will make all of the world's problems go away. Combine the 2, and you have a foolish or stupid person who can't deal with reality, i.e. most people who are for gun control.
 
The poor man is a victim of a clinically diagnosable illness, hoplophobia, the irrational fear of firearms, believing they have a will of their own. Further tests would also uncover an overabundance of estrogen in his system, no doubt.

I'm sorry to correct you, but I'm 'the next generation' and I've never mooned many of the people who so truly deserved it, nor gotten tattoos nor piercings. At every opportunity, I carry out memetic engineering when confronted with a hoplophobe, and I've gotten one member of my family to go from as far left as you can go to neutral, and I'm not done yet. If it takes buying my mom a pink M4, so be it, I will do my part to make sure that everyone I know understands why the second amendment is there.

Speaking of which, can M4 furniture be fitted to a 10/22? I've got an idea for a Christmas present...
 
The three worst mass murders in this country's history were perpetrated with plain old hydrocarbon fuel: JetA, Diesel, gasoline. Sept. 11, OK City, and a night club in NYC.
If a lunatic wants to kill, it might be with a gun.
But the odds are, it will be with a rock, a stick, a knife, by hand or fuel.
 
If not at gunpoint, how do they expect to enforce their no-gun laws? What he's proposing is impossible, regulation requires inequality.

2. No! A gun having no live ammunition will not kill.

1. So is it the bullet that kills?
2. No! A bullet by itself is useless, unless you place it on a slingshot or threw it really really hard. It needs to be pressed into a cartridge containing powder and a primer.

1. Ah, so it's the cartridge doing the killing.
2. No! A live cartridge needs a person to feed it into a gun, lock it in, set safety in the "fire" position, and depress the trigger.

1. Are you saying people are responsible for deaths related to firearms?
2. Yes! Some of the deaths are because of war, some are attributed to the police firing back after being fired upon, and some are law-abiding citizens defending their lives, families, properties, etc. Then there is a small percentage of those who kill in order to take from others, or kill because they're in a fit of uncontrollable rage, or because they just want a thrill. If a gun with live ammunition hadn't been in their possession, their method of murder would have been simply the next available weapon - a knife, a machette, a chain, a baseball bat.
 
It would not be hard at all to start putting out blackpowder guns.

You could make electronicly-fired single-shot blackpowder arms in a long afternoon with some junk from a hardware store and handtools in a garage. Get a pipe. Screw on a cap. Drill a little hole in the cap and put in a little wire that will get hot. Pack in powder, a wad, and a slug. Clamp the whole thing to a nicely-shaped board. Put on a 9v battery and a switch. Point in direction of gun-banner. Pray. Push the button. Take gun-banner's gun. Repeat.
