hehe. Thanks guys, yea. But here in Canada there's some silly rules and we can't get the good scopes how we want them. Can't get FFP Leupold 8-25, it's not allowed for export, can't get Nightforce with zero-stops, those aren't allowed, etc etc.

And with further circumspection my original interpretation of the reticle may have been wrong, perhaps the spacing of the hash marks can still only be read at the ranging magnification setting, and it's just the width of the lines that varies between models.

Does it come with a built-in graphing calculator? I think I've seen less-complex slide rules...

Maybe the US fears the Canuck hordes will pour over the border, rendered belligerent by half-decent beer and chips with gravy and pillage the Northern siblings of the Union......

I mean, I hear some people actually speak...... French over there!

(I have to mock the Fwench and all Francophiles. It's genetic.)

I guess if we can't guarantee they won't be re-exported, and they are considered an improvement over what's currently available, it's not illogical. And we really can't guarantee they won't leave our country, and they technically are improvements, so what-ya gonna do.

But some top-notch guys with public budgets chose Nightforce over that exact Leupold so I guess what's available isn't half bad anyway.
