This used to be named "Cowboy" Lever Action Silhouette. But in 2018 we got rid of the Cowboy and hopefully the confusion with those who dress up and have names like "Evil Roy."
We don't have names or wear costumes. We shoot at metal targets and must knock them over to score. Chickens, pigs, turkeys and rams - a hit doesn't count, gotta knock 'em over.
Small-bore - .22s with tube fed magazines. No hyper vel ammo. Peep sights and targets at 40, 50, 75 and 100 meter/yards
Pistol Cartridge - same distances as small-bore, but heavier targets.
Rifle Cartridge - 50, 100, 150 & 200 meters/yards. 200 meter rams weigh 65 pounds. 30-30 is most common, but some use 38-55 or 45-70.
The ultimate "Bang-Clang" sport - instant feedback.
Look into it.

This past Sunday I shot rimfire silhouette, hunter, standard and lever gun, near Jackson, TN. The lady in your picture is shooting the same set up as I have, lever gun class is great fun. I've got to practice more, my scores are not what I want but silhouette is a humbling game.

nra silhouette game has been around for many mango seasons. rifle and pistol. the pistol games has slowed down and there are not many matches to be found. but the rifle games is strong. you got high power rifle out to 500 meters and smallbore rifle out to 100 meters. but the best is the lever action matches. you don't need much to start in the lever action game.

The "Nationals" are next month, mid- July. Shooters are doing their final prep - sight settings, ammo selection, reloading, and all that stuff. And I'm pretty sure when I get to Raton, NM. I discover I've forgotten something. (did I bring the right shoes?)

We'll shoot two Rifle Cartridge matches, two Pistol Cartridge matches and two small-bore matches over the course of 4 days. Shooters range in age from early teen to very-senior. I usually shoot my best scores at Raton - the entire group of competitors is there to do their best and its catching. I like to shoot and usually feel like local matches leave me hungry for more - after a week at the nationals I leave feeling like "I've shot enough for a while now."

I shot in a local match yesterday -and I think I finally have my small-bore lever gun doing what I expect it to do: The combination of fit, ammo, muscle memory and sights have finally come together. A definite "maybe" for the nationals.

A couple of years ago I was talking to a fellow from Alaska. When they called his relay to the line he said, "Let's see who I am today." If you compete you'll know what this means.
