I recently traded a S&W 442 (I had 3 of them) for a Marlin 30AS (I don't own any lever action rifles). The friend who I traded with bought it about 20 years ago for a deer hunt and maybe put 20 round through it. It is in mint condition with zero scratches, rust or blemishes. It looks like it came right out of a box. It also came with a cheap Tasco scope, mounts and a nice sling. Being an iron-sight type guy I have never really used a scope per-say and was shocked at how well this shoots. Anyway, I'd like to make some minor changes to it and was wanting to know if anyone could recommend any decent Smiths who are familiar with lever-action rifles and did not charge outrageous prices? I'd also like to smooth out the action, but may try this on my own after searching this and the Marlin forum. Thanks.
