Eaglestroker, I like your use of props, the Coke case and full glass bottle are great. You also do great leather work, someday I will need to buy some leather from you. I like the look of the basket weave pattern. The pattern on the 1911 holster and mag pouches are also very nice. Great looking set!

vaupet, I see you are in Belgium. One of my dads friends visits Belgium for two weeks every year. He is 91 years old and was in the 101st airborne, Glider battalion, artillery division and glided into Holland during WWII. He is very sharp still and a wealth of information. The people of Belgium treat him real nice. He always has welcome homes that request him as a guest.

Best Wishes,
DMH

You're right, StrawHat -- and I shoulda knowed better. I misread the post, + I could not really get a good view of the sideplate of the Winchester. A distinction between the '73 & the '76 is the 73 has a pointier sideplate near the trigger while the 76 is rounded there.

Not to mention the 76 is much more massive proportionally, and the rear of the receiver terminates well behind the hammer on a 73, and in the hammer on a 76.

Nice 73's DMH!

I'll have to take some pictures, but currently:
1981 Marlin Golden 39A in .22LR (what else?)
1961 Winchester 94 in .30/30
1986 Browning 1886 rifle in .45/70
one of the new Winchester '73s is in my future, ought to pair quite nicely with my S&W Model 65......

I can't wait to show you all my new lever surprise. Bwhaaaa! Bwhaaaa! Bwhaaaaaaaa!

Bought this 336 .30-30 new in 1976. I've toted it many and many a mile and killed several animals with it.

When snow shoeing in the mountains or just bustin' around out in the boonies it tags along with me.

StrawHat, Very cool! How does the front swivel attach for the sling? What caliber? When you say enjoy, does that mean you shoot it? Thanks for sharing the photos.

Eb1: "Someone stole my 1976 336 30-30 my father bought me..."

There's a very special place in Hell for thieves of guns and motorcycles. I don't know how Dante' omitted that...

Thanks for that as I am a motorcyclist also. To be honest it was a cop to say the least. A crazy gun hating girlfriend when I was 19 got mad at me, and called the cops saying I was going to commit suicide after she got drunk one night and I told her to leave.
They came in, and took my rifle and me to the joint. Funny thing. No record of the rifle was ever in the report.
When they let me out I went to the evidence room to get my rifle, and it was never turned in to the evidence room. Some copper got themselves a nice deer rifle.

"..I went to the evidence room to get my rifle, and it was never turned in to the evidence room.."
Unfortunately. it seems this is not at all an uncommon occurrence. I have to believe most cops are on the right side, but I've just seen too much BS that makes me question that.

Here are mine from top to bottom:
Winchester 1886 45/70 from 1899, Marlin 1894s 44 mag, Marlin 1894c 357 mag, Winchester 71 348 from 1952 (I think), Winchester 94 32 Special from '62, Winchester 9422 22LR 1st year 4 digit serial, Henry Youth model 22LR ImageUploadedByTapatalk1373161655.373260.jpg

The photo is of a Fifth Model Burnside carbine. In my youth I used in in re-enacting the ACW and also for target competition. It uses a propietary tapered case and is sparked by a percussion cap. Nominally a 54 caliber, I believe I use .565 round balls. THe gain twist rifling is found of light conicals and really shines with round balls.

There is no front swivel but on the off side of the action there is a sling bar and ring for a strap and swivel arrangement that was worn bandolier style over one shoulder. When I get it up and running again, I will submit a thread.

Thanks for the information StrawHat, Again that is a very cool rifle and revolver you have. Nice to know that you were shooting it, its neat when they still function.

Not Pictured are the revolvers that go with them. Only the 336 doesn't have a handgun to match.
