does anyone make a lever gun chambered in 7mm 308 30-06 and the like, instead of the giant slug bullets. i herd browning does anyone else. im guessing there going to need a magazine instead of the tube style.

someone brought lever guns up in another one of my posts and i kinda like them and might even/probably will trade in my bolt action for one if there made and reasonably priced. i really like the look of them. i always just thought of them as cowboy guns till i started looking into the modern ones.

Winchester model 88 was available in .308 Win. and .243 Win. It has a detachable box magazine. If I remember correctly, it was also the first rifle chambered for the .243.

Browning and Winchester are the same company. The Winchester 1895 is chambered in 30-06 & 30-40 Krag this year. There are tons of Savage Model 99's in 300 Savage & 308 out there. There's plenty of old Winchester Model 88's on Gunbroker chambered in 308. The Marlin XLR is chambered in both 308MX & 338MX.

In current production...only the Browning BLR.

EDIT: I forgot about the Winchester 1895's mentioned above. And anybody seriously considering what the OP is asking should look REAL hard at the 338 MX.

I wouldn't bet the farm that the Marlin 338MX cartridge will be around in ten years. I would seriously consider a 30-30 if I was just looking to kill deer at ranges under 200 yards.
