Lever vs Bolt

There are likely bad guns of all brands and things like this happen. The BLR levers with a flick of your fingers short and quick. All of my lever guns are Marlins at the present. One of those guide guns in 4570 would make a good personal protection rifle too.

lever guns are......

faster loading.....easier to top off......useful for righties or lefties....lighter shorter and handier......higher capacity......much faster at follow up shots with out losing sight picture....useful at ranges up to 200yds (beyond with leverevolution ammo)....easier to snap shoot with....better for self defense.

Bolters are chambered in flatter shooting long range rounds.....usually more accurate....bolt locking action is more robust.

Whatever works for you.:D

Bolt actions are simpler, more robust, can fire Spitzer, or flat-nosed bullets and can be fired from the prone position.

There's a reason why Bolt-Actions replaced Lever-Actions in every military circle.

And yet today, every military circle worth mentioning uses automatic actions which compared to a bolt-action are more complicated, less robust, and with long magazines less suited to prone firing.:neener:

I think different parts of the country have alot to do with what you carry. Yes, a bolt is accurate for long shots in wide open country, but in the South Eastern states heavy brush and thickets, a lever works just fine,I am also partial to one particular brand :)
