I was just curious about left handed actions on AR's. I am thinking about buying the Stag Arms LH Upper assembly. I have not seen anyone else who makes these for lefties. Will this work on my standard lower receiver? Do I need something special?

As far as I know they will work on a regular lower. I myself shoot left handed but own a right handed AR. I didn't buy a lefty one because I "believe" the bolt carrier group is reversed, for obvious reasons, and wanted to be able to find parts easily. Shooting a right handed one lefty style doesn't cause me any problems unless i'm bench shooting a lot and then I get a face full of exaust. Not to bad though;)

They work fine. Make sure you get the COMPLETE upper, as the bolt group is backwards too.

I'm a lefty, and I run them, like them a lot. No issues to date.

Currently, yes. They are the only source.

But unless you're running supressed, you should be able to shoot a RH rifle just fine.

I'm right handed but shoot LH occasionally as that eye has better vision. I don't have any problems doing that with a standard AR. You will also find it much easier to obtain spares if you need them. BSW

I liked the price of the Stag upper assembly. However after looking at the famous spreadsheet that floats around her pretty often I see that it does not have many of the features that most of the other brands have. Is the Stag a decent upper? Should I go a different route?
