I own a Lever Action Ithaca .22. I'm unsure of the model number right now. It was given to me by my uncle, who had it when he was a boy so it as least 30-40 years old. It had had some problems with misfires which were straightened out by a local gunsmith, but now it isn't pulling the rounds out of the magazine into the chamber. If I place bullets in the chamber 1 at a time it fires just fine, but it won't bring them up from the tube. I cleaned it real well and it functioned for a full tube but then it again failed to function. I'm trying to decide if this is a mechanical problem or just a grime problem. And what can I do about it?
