I've been asked to install a light rail on a Commander (CLW), what's the best way to attach it? And any ideas as to where to look for one? I want a good quality rail, as it will be used for SWAT type operations.
Caspian has the rails, stainless or carbon. It requires drilling the dustcover and then the screws go through it into the rail, ie..the dustcover isn't threaded. It could be used this way, but even Gary reccomends that it be silver soldered on in addition to the screws for good service.
Yikes, just noticed the LW. Dunno if its possible or practicle on an aluminum frame, I don't think I would personally do it on that unless I got some input from someone who has one in service for a while already. I'm not treading in those waters first.
I don't have a problem putting one a steel frame, was a bit concerned with the alum. frame, which is why I decided to ask here............hoping someone would have some experience with it.
