Light, slim 9MM not a Kahr or Keltec

but I'd nominate:

Firestar -
small enough for some pockets, but definitely not all.
It also comes in .40 and .45ACP.

(I like the Firestar Plus, which is double-stack, even better.)

+1 for a Star Firestar plus (but in 9mm). If you can find one in decent condition, they are great little pistols. BUT they aren't "light" by any means (it's all steel :/) and accessories are hard to come by.

The Kahr K9 describes the gun you want completely. Ive shot the coveted P7's and yes, they are very nice...but the K series guns Ive shot are easier to carry and almost as accurate.......that says alot about the guns.
Shoot well.............
PS........NICE PIC! :D

I'm in a pickle. Maybe I need a better holster, but my HK P7 PSP is heavy for its size and caliber. I love the gun, but find myself carrying my Beretta M85 in .380 more as its lighter and easier to conceal. The caliber bothers me, however and I'd rather carry a 9MM or a .45.

What is a light, non-polymer 9MM that can compete with a P7 in reliabilty and accuracy, but is lighter and easier to conceal and carry?

Shoot a Rohrbaugh and end your quest. It's smaller than a Kahr in every dimension, superb craftsmanship, and it goes BANG every time.

Well R9 has had some mentions but - hey a pic helps too.

Indeed this is so upmarket on price it does put some folks off - but - 9mm, about as small is it can get - and full up with GD's 6+1 17 ounces all in. Goes very well in pocket and not half bad for ankle either.

Superbly engineered, ultra high tolerance piece, but naturally, not for eveyone.

BTW - this was my first - new ones no longer looks like this - black grips, very dark frame - this one is collector status now.

If not the Kahr...???

If not the Kahr (why not the Kahr?)

then the Taurus PT111 (or the PT140 or PT145...)

I vote for the S&W 3913. I was wanting one until I found the Kel Tec P11 which you eliminate. Honestly, though, I don't think S&W has a decocker only version, so I might rather have the DAO. I don't care much for the S&W safety system. I'd prefer a decocker that rebounds to the fire position like my P90DC. That 3913 is a sexy looking gun to my eye, though, not that it matters when the chips are down, but it also works well.

The Ruger P95DC isn't all that hard to carry, under 30 ounces. But, you don't like plastic.

Just get a Blade-Tech UCH Holster for your PSP. Love my PSP in that UCH:

Other than that, get a Springfield Armory Ultra Compact 1911 in 9mm:

Should be lighter than our PSPs too.

I'm overwhelmed. Thanks guys. I have so many guns, but most of them are just not practical or comfortable for carry. Great, accurate. range guns but nothing you forget you have on.

The STI's look interesting as do some of the other 1911 based compacts.

I am going to try:

Kahr PM9 and K9
HK Alloy Framed P7M8. (just kidding)
New holster for my HK P7's ( I have both the PSP and M8)
Some of the 1911 based compacts.

Thanks guys, great stuff.

I'm fond of my Kahr PM9 - worth a look.

I had a MK9, sold it, bought a Sig P239 - so far havent regretted it. P239 is relatively light, accurate, and reliable.
I also had a MK9 and was not impressed with it as a carry gun. I also think that the 239, while it is a nice carry gun, would not be the best choice given the requirements listed in this thread. I would recommend either a Colt Pocket Nine or a Rohrbaugh R9S ...
