Well I recently returned from Iraq and have finally got 2 great CCWs. HK USPc 9mm for winter/fall/spring carry and HK P7 PSP for summer carry. I had actually talked myself out of these while overseas and was determined to get a G19 and Kahr K9 instead but when I went to the gunshop they didnt have em but they did have the HK's. Anyway I love em. I really really like the P7. I enjoy shooting it more then the USP and its easier to conceal. I'm not really a great shot but with the P7 I was tearing out one big hole out of the center of the bullseye! Mostly anyway. Got myself a bladetech IWB for the USP and a custom leather off ebay for the P7. I'm going on 30 days leave in July and will be attending Fighting Pistol I and Fighting Pistol II at Tactical Response in TN. Can't wait! Best thing is I finally get to retire the S&W Sigma 380 I'd been carrying since the mid 90's lol. Heres some pics:

Greetings Khyron!

Welcome back, glad you are safe and thank you for your service!

You have good taste in pistolas there!

Welcome to the HK club !

Congrats on joining the HK club......

Poke your nose into HKPro.com for a peek into the world of those who obsess about their HK fanaticism....... ;)

I'm a proud owner of an HK P2000sk. I'm also a proud owner of a several Taurus handguns, and two SIGs, and some others - nothing snobbish about the HK - just another great handgun.

Looks like I'm a german gun snob now

What does a German gun snob do?
Go "Heil Heckler!"?

<ahem>

Sorry about that...

:D

First, I'm a German gun snob of a different order: I love the Mauser 98.

But from what I've seen, HK's are prime. So here come a few more on my pages-long wish list!

Thank you for your service to our country. Words just seem so ineffectual in expressing gratitude to the men and women who sacrifice so much for this nation. You deserve the very best and since you are having to pay for it yourself, go ahead and enjoy the HK. I can't say enough how much I like my HK pistols. +1 HKPro.com for the company of exclusively HK owners. Nice people there just like here on THR.

No, in order to be a German Gun Snob you have to completely ignore that RG ever produced a firearm and that everybody lies about .22lr Western Revolvers from West Germany. If you do that, and then assume that it is genetics that makes Germans produce good pistols, and that nobody is genetically up to snuff, then you are a German Gun Snob.

Otherwise, you simply have some pistols you really like.

Everybody lies about .22lr Western Revolvers from West Germany.

I have a Jana "Bison" from West Germany currently serving as a paper weight, and anyone who doubts the above may inspect it. It won't hit the broad side of a barn with either .22 LR or .22 Magnum. My father's master sgt. bought it in W. Germany for something like U.S. $5. It was my first handgun, and it wasn't any more accurate back in the late 1960s.

No collection of German guns is complete without a handful (or two) of Walthers. In fact, collections of German firearms should begin with Walthers.

And yes, thanks for your service to the nation.

In order to be a German gun snob, you need to add some stamped slide Sigs to your collection

Absolutely, especially a P220 or a P226. Regards.

What does a German gun snob do?

I bought the P7 at Mary's Pistols in Tacoma. The guy there jokingly said now I would become a HK snob. He said that meant when I went to the range everyone would want to shoot my P7 and when offered to shoot their pistols I would decline lol. I dont see that happening.

As far as other german pistols go I used to own a Broomhandle Mauser. I bought it when I was 21. It was in fair to good condition and had been rebored to 9mm. Think I only paid $400+ for it. This was in 1995. I actually shot it a few times. The first time though the rear adjustable sight popped off and hit me square in the forhead! About a year later my roomates and I were about to loose our apartment so I pawned it and a Taurus PT 92-99. I got $150 for the Mauser and $100 for the Taurus. Got the rent paid but next month we didnt and got evicted anyway. Damn I was stupid back then.

Already found hkpro just havent posted there yet. Also found the website for the cult of the P7. My brother has got a Sig 220 which is sweet. I've got a airsoft P228 :)

Thanks for the welcome back, I never thought I'd miss the clouds and rain of Washington but it sure beats 140 degree heat in the shade.

To be a TRUE "German gun snob", you have to own modern semi-autos (at least one each, preferably more) by the "Big Three"---HK, SIG and Walther. Made in German manufacturing facilities only---no non-German production. ;)

You should also own at least one each of the following "vintage" pistols:

Mauser C96 (Broomhandle)
DWM PO8 (Luger)
Langenhan

i guess i qualify on that one.

about half of my handguns are german. i'm slipping though a few months ago half of my handguns were walthers.

Mauser C96 (Broomhandle)
DWM PO8 (Luger)
Langenhan

none of those for me yet

It's so easy to end up as one of these isn't it?

I certainly qualified. On my 21st birthday, I put 4 figures on my HK USP45 Tactical... as the first firearm I ever purchased.

Then I bought a PTR-91 (didn't really want to spend on a real HK91, especially since I was going to 'de-value' it by modifying it up to high heaven, and putting a large amount of ammunition through it).

And now I am currently saving up for an SL8-6 and the Top Notch G36 conversion with the AR-15 mag well.

Love that USP 45 Tactical. Shoots really nice in SA/DA.
But it was same $$$ as my XD 45 and used Springfield Loaded Stainless.
