Likelihood of Lead bullets being banned?

Here's my prophecy.

Gun manufacturers will have to make barrels out of something more durable than steel for whatever bullet metals get used. I also think zinc will play a bigger role. Plentiful, hard enough for rifle velocities and melts at a lower temp.

But what about all the barrels that cannot handle the zinc if this becomes true?

Yes, I predict at some point lead bullets will be banned, but not by the EPA, and not for some time. As a California resident, I have watched incremental civil rights violations against gun owners creep forward, as the ban on lead hunting bullets is but one small example. Look to see an eventual outlawing of lead bullet use on public lands (primarily USFS, BLM, and state) for target shooting first, followed by a ban on the use of lead bullets in indoor ranges, and finally a ban on private outdoor ranges. Likely this will be sold to the voting liberal masses as a "health and safety" measure, one step at a time. And if you like your bullets, you can keep your bullets, Period! You just won't be able to use them. Trust the politicians; they know what's best!

the real issue is that there will be no-more lead available for bullets by the end of this year because of EPA efforts. When the last lead smelter closes-down in MO on December 31, that's it for everyone.

Completely incorrect and debunked by no less than...bullet manufactures.
