Has anyone seen any load data for Hodgdon's Lil' gun in the 45-70? I'm looking to get away from my bone shattering loads and find something a bit more humane(for me). I know unique,trail boss, and 2400 are being used but I've got quite a bit of Lil' gun on hand. I'm only considering it for cast cowboy type loads. Anybody got any ideas??

I have developed a real love affair with SR4759 for 45-70 with cast bullets. My Ruger #1 is short and light and a lot of fun and very accurate even with my old eyes and the factory sights.
For the LIL gun you might start with the 2400 data and develop your own loads, should be fun and very comfortable, also email or call Hodgdon and ask, they may be able to help you.

I use IMR3031 or H4198 when loading for the 45-70 Gov't but I know a few reloaders who use 2400 so I see no reason why Lil'Gun wouldn't work too.
