I want to clean my decapped cases in a liquid soak rather than tumbling them.
I would like something to dissolve the powder and primer residue inside the case and primer pocket as well as clean the outside of the case.

Does anybody do this, and what kind of mixture do you use?

Iosso makes a liquid as does Lyman, have used both. Iosso is better/faster and best on heavy tarnish. Lyman works well but you need to soak a little longer. With Iosso I usually just drop cases in for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then pull them out, rinse and then dry.

After rinsing the cases you can air dry or put them in your oven set on low. You can clean thousands of cases in a short time and you don't need to tumble them before or after. If they aren't as shiny as you want them you can tumble them after for a short time.

Lock, Stock & Barrel sells both I think. www.lockstock.com

Liquid cleaner does a good job on brass, but please remember that each time you use this liquid, a chemical reaction is occurring between the brass and the liquid cleaner and potentally weakens the brass structure. I am not saying don't use it, but suggesting that it be used sparingly and for only short periods of time.::scrutiny:

Koolaid works very well as a liquid brass cleaner. Actually the main ingreident citric acid works well. I just tried thes last week mixed 5 packs koolaid to 1 gallon of hot water to clean some dirty range brass about 20-30 min. did the trick. I would reccomend removing the primer first and make sure you rinse the brass with hot water.Do not use red it will stain everything my friend used lemonade koolaid and had good results. You can use koolaid to try and if you like the results order citric acid it would be cleaner.Do not pour down the drain if you have a septic system.
