little problem with Yugo 57

Hi all, I am experiencing a small glitch with my Yugo M57 pistol---the first glitch after firing quite a few rounds. the slide is very firmly stuck open on an empty magazine, cannot operate the mag release button nor the slide stop. hopefully it is just me being stupid again and not another defective mag. anyone willing to give a true dummy a clue towards putting this pistol back into operation? Thank you A.J.

Have you tried pulling the slide back slightly while you push on the slide stop and/or the mag release? Or is that a dumb question?

nope, not a dumb question, but I did try that. I called the place where I bought this pistol, they now have a replacement for the one defective mag. that came with it. when I go there to get the mag., their gunsmith is gonna have a look-see & hopefully unlock it. thanks! A.J.

When in doubt, disassemble... But you might as well wait and let them do it. Good luck!

Um, did you take it apart before shooting its possible that didn't put the slide pin in correctly, if you drop the mag, make sure the slide release is completely down, then the next step is to drop the slide and see if that's it.
