Has anyone else used the crushed walnut lizard bedding from PetSmart for their tumbling media? You get way more for the money than you do buying a reloading companies media. The only odd thing I noticed was how fine it was ground, but I wouldnt think this would be a problem? I dont have any dirty brass at the moment to try it out on. I guess I need to go shoot huh? ;)

True, the pet store litter will work. Good, treated tumbling media is not expensive and will last a long, long time. If I were looking for a way to save money I would address one of the more expensive items in reloading. Your mileage may vary.

I wasnt really trying to save money, we were just in PetSmart with the dogs over the weekend and the bag that said ground walnut caught my eye when we were walking around. I would never bend over backwards trying to save a couple bucks on tumbling media, but I'm also not going to pass up a deal right in front of me:D

I agree with rcmodel, lizard litter works great.

I see no performance disadvantage using it and it is convenient for me to get as I'm frequently in PetSmart--my female greyhound is a shop till she drops girl.:)

Besides, savings is savings.

Yep, +1 to using it! Easy to get, easy to use, not expensive. What's not to like?

Apparently, great minds think alike! Well, you may be a bit wary if your mind works like my mind...

Might be dusty

I stir in some Nu Finish and make sure it it mixed real good then throw a couple of Bounce sheets for the dust.

It seems to work fine.

If you recycle it, the lizard poop eliminates the need for Nu Finish.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Just kidding. I got mine at Petco. Same stuff.
