Hey folks, I'm new to the site. I thought maybe someone here would have some info about the Llama .380s.

As you likely know, Llama apparently produced/supplied the Ecuador Air Force with Micromax .380s. I am thinking of buying buying a Micromax .380, and I am wondering if there is Mil-Spec type difference in production quality (e.g. machined vs stamped internal parts) of the EAF pistols over civilian production models.

There seems to be a little premium for the EAF pistols, and I am wondering if the slight price premium is based on a qualitative difference or simply on the novelty effect.

Any info is appreciated.

Don't know about the difference between EAF and civvie micro's, but I have an older ('70's) production Llama .380 (~3/4 scale 1911, more or less) and a 2003 production Micro-max .380 and there is a world of difference. For one, the new Micro-max is blowback. That aside, the older one just has much nicer fit and finish.
