I'm looking at buying the LMT CQB MRP, non-piston version with 16" barrel.

anyone own or handled one of these? Is it nose heavy? I thought my Sig556 (pre-classic version) was nose heavy with the handguards.

Yes, it's a DI. They had the MRP DI system out long before the piston one came along. LMT also makes excellent standard uppers with barrel lengths of 12, 14.5, and 16 inches.

Haven't handled one lately, and I don't remember how it balanced.

I found a place that is expecting a shipment in a month and a half and he listed at the price that was listed on LMT's website so I went with that. My local dealer quoted me $200 cheaper (before 5% tax) but he would have to order it and I'm not waiting 6+ months.

What 12131 said. The MRP quad adds a lot of heft.

I bought one in February and couldn't be happier. I wouldn't trade it for any other M4... well, maybe an N4.
