I have been doing a lot of testing. The only way you can know everything thing about the bullet is to chronograph it. Yes you can look at your load data and FPS for that data, but there are too many variables too be worth writing down anything other than your MOA. You will know if the round is accurate, but not much else. FPS, Is the most important thing to know (IMO). If you know the FPS, you then can use apps on the phone to give you Drops, and MOA corrections if you don't want to figure it out for yourself. So save up and buy a chrono.
 
Remember that all of the ballistic software doesn't use the same fomulas for a given bullet.

You'll get most accurate data for down range bullet drop (sight settings) by shooting them then recording the numbers.

And across every given make and model of scope, their adjustments are not all equal. A few percentage points error is normal because all their lenses used in different places in the scopes are not exactly the same focal length. And that changes the image size a little in the reticle plane.
