make a dummy round (just bullet and case). chamber the round and make sure it goes all the way in (rim hits the back of the cylinder). that round nose bullet should work fine at .361".

a 10 percent powder reduction is prudent in this case. you can always work up later.

this should cure the leading problem.

I'm gonna down the load a bit to accommodate the increase in pressure from the larger dia bullet.

There is not going to be a noteworthy increase in pressure.

does the gun shave off any lead when you push the round in the chamber? does the cylinder spin freely after you chamber the round? measure the diameter of the bullet after you push it in the cylinder. does hard chambering occur with all cylinders, or just one?

The bullet expands the brass so much that it does not chamber. Not even a little.

Sometimes it will chamber with some force, but that depends on the size the bullet dropped at.

make a dummy round with that .3595" bullet (light crimp). see if that one fits. if it does, the .359 sizer should work.

murf

Okay.

That works fine. I'll have to order a .359 sizer then.

One thing that bothers me is that my lee .357 sizer sizes to .358??

How was the accuracy with that .358? Tumble lube those before and then again after sizing and try them again..
Accuracy was alright. Its about what factory loads gave me from my 2" snubby.

30ft, 5 shots, 4 grouped dead center at 1.25" with the 5th shot going way out in left field about 2.5" away.

Accuracy deteriorated from there, but at a much faster rate than my gun usually does from barrel heat.

Second group was 3", 3rd group was all over.

Was the leading causing this?

Exactly.. I think I said that like three times in this thread.. most people that tumble lube and size do it twice.. once (lightly/thin) before sizing and then again after.
I try to not size so I only have to lube once.
