Any bore dammage when using undersized jacketed bullets in a rifle ? Have a lot of .310 surplus fmj bullets I planned on using for my .303 british.]

Should be okay. I've run more than a few through my 7.7mm Arisaka.

Accuracy was terrible though so I saw it as a waste of bullets. .312" 174gr Hornady bullets shoot much, much better and don't cost an arm and a leg.

I saved the 123gr .310 bullets for kids "plinking" ammo in the Garand.

Just sold my 7.62 x 54R. Got whole lot of surplus ammo. Thought of using bullets and powder in my .303 longbranch and that undersized bullets would let gas through and dammage to the bore.

The .310 bullets are rare I have looked for several years and finally gave up.I now shoot.311 in my MN. I have had no problem getting Sierra 303 bullets in 311 dia.

Here's a thought ... rather than spending a lot of time making inaccurate ammo , how'bout selling that pile of 7.62x54r surplus ammo and using the proceeds to buy some proper bullets for your Enfield reloading? ;)

GBExpat,
Inaccurate ? Not so, you'd be surprised. Time consuming ? Much faster than conventional reloading after you find a quick way of pulling bullets out (made myself a tool for it) . Cost ? Next to nothing.

There's never been any milsurp that uses a .310" bullet, that I've ever seen. Won't hurt anything though.
A Lee-Enfield barrel can measure from .311" to .315" and still be considered ok. Slug your barrel.

I still have a bag of 123gr .310" milsurp bullets. Pulled from 7.62x39.

Good plinking bullets for the M1, but not fat enough for the T99.

Sometimes a .310 fb bullet will bump up when shot and be accurate enough. One word of caution though - Sometimes the undersized bullet can be pushed back when chambered and when you pull the trigger the primer will go off and you will end up with a stuck bullet and dump a lot of powder. It happened to me once when I was in a heck of a hurry to get my rifle sighted in. Thank God I stopped, looked down my bore and got a range rod before I resumed shooting.
