Loading for a 9mm rifle of unlimited strength.

Mention of the TC contenders keeps getting tossed out here.

Fellas this isn't a weak in the knees contender. The gun in question is a TC ENCORE

As I said before find some steel case's, that will give you the strongest case, as far as loading data your on your own.

I thought you had Quickload. If so I would run some numbers by it with different propellants mentioned and see where that gets you. If all he wanted was a rifle caliber near that the 35 Remington barrel would be the ticket. I had one of those for a few years and it was fun to shoot.;)

The limiting factor is the very small case size of the 9mm. You can see what a compressed load of Bullseye, e3, or Titegroup powder will do if you choose. Mark them not to be used in anything else.

Interesting. Headspacing on the 9MM bullet?

That was just for play; however, I would suppose it would head space like a 45 acp or 10mm/40 s&w would.

Oh, no. Certainly would not work in a 300 blk chamber, too long to begin with and would start a hell of a kaboom thread trying to push a .355 bullet down a .308 bore.

I was just responding to Bucks comment about finding a 9mm load like a 357 maximum, when I posted the photos of the two dummy rounds I formed.

I actually have about a foot drop of 9mm barrel I was going to chamber and fire form a few just to see how bad they try and stick but I need a lot of rain I order to get that far down my list of rainy day projects.

a while back i experimented with 124 grain xtp bullets and hs-7 in my browning hi power. got past 1400 fps through the chrony. the gun is fine, the cases were all fine, the primers were cratered and flowed back into the firing pin hole.

i would start with a dense powder like hs-7 if you can find any, hs-6 if you can't. i wouldn't compress the powder and would make sure the bullet does not set back (shouldn't be a problem in a single shot).

cases should hold up as the 9mm is designed to be run in a hi pressure sub machine gun. i used +p cases in my little experiment.

luck,

I'd have to agree with Bluetopper on this one - you only have so much room for propellant. I ran into the same issue with my bolt action .45 ACP rifle. I have gotten 1,850 fps with 185 grain Gold Dots, 1,600+ fps with 230 grain bullets. Power Pistol is a good powder to try. Clark made a similar .45 ACP rifle and said that the sign you were at the edge was when the spent primers start falling out of the cases. I assume your Encore will have a fully supported case.
