This is one of those situations where if you have three books, you have four opinions -- a situation where the more information you have, the less answers you have.
I have consulted Speer, which I don't own but glanced at whilst shopping at Cabelas, Lee's Modern Reloading, Lyman 48th, Hodgon's website.
Of these, each of them lists a different load for W231. Some max out where others don't even start. Some list different data for W231 and HP38. While others, like Hodgon's own website, HP38 and W231 are listed as the same powder.
So my question: What do you load for a 95 grain lead, or 100 grain plated, in the 380 using W231 / HP38? I worked up a load but haven't shot it starting with 2.9 grains of HP38 up to 3.2 in 0.1 increments. But having consulted some other sources, I might be way underpowering the load since some sources work up to 3.5 or 3.6 grains.
If you have a chrono, what did you load that achieves a 1000 fps nominal velocity?
