I have always used IMR 4895 in my M1's I have heard that if the action is somewhat sluggish that IMR 4064 can sometimes cure this.

If the action is running sluggishly it is more likely due to a worn gas piston and cylinder. Maybe changing powders with a higher port pressure will off set that, but that such ideas are similar to the advice that if your bearings/rings are worn you should use a heavier oil. It may work for a while but the underlining problem remains and will continue to get worse.
