This auction is presently in progress for online bidding. It is local to me, and I had a chance to inspect several of the firearms available for sale. This is definitely a buyer beware situation here!

There is a large selection of M1 Carbines, Mausers, and a few big ticket items. G43, SVT40, IHC M1 Garand. The big tickets appear to be legit, although I did not inspect them closely. Not in my price range/interest at the moment. There are also the most M/S G98/40s I have ever seen in one place. The one I looked at appeared legit.

The problem with this auction, is that the previous owner was clearly a gunsmith of sorts, and quite good at blueing. Most of the Mauser rifles I inspected were either partially or completely reblued, or in fair condtion at best and likely future project guns for the individual. Some featured NOS barrels not matching the receiver. I looked at one K98 as such, and it passed a field guage test, so the guy apparently knew how to headspace a mauser. There are also a lot of put-together franken guns that appear in the pictures to be original. I would not bid anything on this auction with an eye to acquiring a collector piece, other than the aforementioned big ticket items or possibly a G98/40. If you're looking for a representative example of some of the Mauser patterns that will look "nice" and likely be a very good shooter, your odds are good.

Any auction is buyer beware, but I thought I should do the community a service here and add an extra caution to this one!
