My late son was a licensed gusmith in NC. When the building in which his shop was located was sold, he was evicted and had to place everything including his huge Vulcan gun safe in storage. The safe is locked and he passed away without ever having revealed the electronic keypad combination to anyone. My younger son plans to replace the dead battery but is afraid that experimenting with possible combinations will cause the safe to lock up permanently. We have some very long, sophisticated looking keys that we think might relate to the safe but so far have not located a keyhole. The safe not only contains guns belonging to my late son but also weapons which he was repairing for clients. We are working with the County Sheriff who has received calls from some of my late son's clients in an attempt to get their weapons back to them. While my younger son has contacted a locksmith in the Spartanburg, SC area he has indicated that without the combination the only way to open the safe will be to drill it. The safe was expensive and we have a possible buyer if it remains in good useable condition. I have tried to locate a Vulcan company on the internet without success. All help regarding ways of opening the safe without damaging it will be most appreciated. Thank you in advance.
