Has anyone tried to put a lone wolf barrel in a Smith&Wesson Sigma?

I've read that glock barrels were interchangeable with earlier model sigmas. Later models not so sure. If a glock barrel would fit, it stands to reason an aftermarket barrel made for a glock would as well.

I have a SW40VE, and if it would fit, I'd like to get it a barrel to shoot 357 sig.

S&W Sigma: $300
Lone Wolf barrel: $100+
357 SIG ammo: $24/50

Not to be harsh, but if you can afford any quantity of 357 SIG ammo, you can afford a new gun in that caliber, or a Glock or M&P in .40 with interchangeable barrels to 357 SIG, whether those be factory barrels or Lone Wolf barrels.

It's not about cost. I didn't ask for the cheapest way to get into shooting 357sig, that's not what I'm after here.

If you want to discuss cost, though, here is an alternative point of view:

I have the sigma already, making it a sunk cost. Making future spending decisions based on past sunk costs is faulty logic.
For barely more than the cost of one box of 357 factory rounds, I can get a set of 357sig dies. I already load 9mm, and can load 357sig for essentially the same cost as 9mm (same components, just a tad more powder per round).

Here's a post where I found somewhat relevant info:

It looks like there is compatibility between some models, but not all. I think the difference might be in the slides. I have the sigma in both 9 and 40, and the barrels and slides are not interchangeable between them. Where the back of the barrel mates against the slide are differently sized, the 40 barrel won't fit in the 9mm slide, and the 9mm barrel fits in the 40 slide, but with a looser fit than normal.

From what I can tell, if one will fit, it would be for a glock 23. I'd just like to see if someone has tried it successfully, before buying one.

If you can't use the barrel out of a glock how about reloading with some 135gr. 40 cal bullets. You should be able to run the velocity up quite a bit compared to standard 180 gr bullets. Not as high as 357sig velocities but up there. Mark
