I'm looking for a range that you can shoot out to 800 yards I southern Nebraska and I would also like to fans anybody that does this kind of stuff around here.

Huntinfool,if you find anything let me know.
Live just north of grand Island, would love to find a place to shoot that far.
Range in central city is 200 yards, is OK for sighting in hunting rifles, but would like to shoot farther than that for the bench gun.
You can pm me or post it
Thanks

Yes you do but its real easy to become a member anyone can join. Its north of alda its called heartland park its probably on line its at 6788 husker highway grand island N.E. 68801 phone # is 308-385-5048

to become a member they will give you a sheet of paper to read and then they will ask you some safty questions that was on that paper. Real simple

Try 1Kplus.com South and east of Lexington. Was out there for an open house in Oct. I believe they have the capability to shoot out to 1600yds.--Mike.

When I talked to Lonnie he was pretty enthusiastic about getting some long range shoots going.I was especially interested in the long range BPCR. Since I live in Lincoln it would be a far cry shorter than my annual pilgrimages to Alliance.--Mike.

Mike, what is BPCR?
Have never been in a competition, has always just been me against the paper.
Just getting my rifle set up with load development and finding a scope that I like, with winter here it's hard to find a day that's nice enough and that other stuff needs to get done first.
Again thanks for the information,
Jeff

Jeff, Black Powder Cartridge Rifle. Alliance Rifle Club has a 1000yd range and runs both creedmore and buffalo matches. Single shot rifles are used, Sharps,Highwalls,Ballards,Trapdoors, etc.Either black powder or smokeless can be used.Other than safety and using cast bullets the only other rule is to have fun! You can check out their website @ www.alliancerifleclub.com Mike.

Mike,thanks for the link.
I shoot a sporterized Mauser in .308 but it looks like they have a match that I could shoot in,
It wouldn't be but a 2hr. drive or so.
Thanks again,
Jeff

25ring,

I used to know/shoot with another "Mike" from NE that was also heavily into BPCRs and shot up at Alliance annually, also the "Q", Miller BPCS and Tappen Hill.

Any chance you know of another "Mike" from Lincoln?

Chuck

Chuck R. I dont know mike but I live a ways away from lincoln and I havent lived in nebraska very long. Im from idaho and out there you can go just about anywhere and shoot at any range. Deffenantly cant do that here.

huntingfool,

I'm thinking 25ring IS the Mike A. I'm thinking of. I imagine there are quite a few Mikes in Lincoln, but the BPCRs and Alliance pilgrimage narrows it down some. Since a Schuetzen target has 25 rings, 25 being the bullseye, based on his ego, I'm betting it's him......:D

I know what you mean about the shortage of LR ranges, we've got the same problem here in KS unless you have access to private land. I've got out to 500 on my place now, I'm thinking of trying to get to 700, but it's difficult due to terrain/visibility and a suitable backstop.

How's that song go.."aint found a way to kill me yet..."

Good to see you're still kicking too! Age is catching up to me though, just got a prescription for bi-focals! Finally got the new house completed on the property and moved in last year. Here's the view from the back deck:

Turkey is at 385+ just like the "real" thing, hopefully I'll get the ram in this year. Crappy group, my spotter was "off" that day :D Keep saying I'm going to get back into BPCS, but free time is killing me. Too much mowing....scouts etc.

How about you?

Chuck
